Modeled after successful nonprofit center programs across the country, the
mission of the Center for NonProfit Excellence (CNPE) is to provide a wide
range of resources and services that strengthen and support the leadership
and management of nonprofit organizations located in the Florida Keys through
best practices. We encourage every nonprofit to take advantage of these services
(offered for a nominal fee or without charge) to aid your organization in fulfilling
its mission. Program notices are sent regularly via email to our CNPE list
serve or listed here on our website. Organizations contact NPOCenter@cffk.org to
be added to the list serve.
Workspace and Conference Room
A private conference room is available for small group meetings of up to
8 people. Housed in the conference room is a workspace, computer with Internet
access, printer and speakerphone. Located at the CFFK offices in Key West,
the space is available without charge on a first come, first serve basis, Monday

Resource Library and Nonprofit Website Directory
New! CFFK Resource Library Online lets you find forms and articles quickly. Click
here to begin browsing. Tools to research grant opportunities and nonprofit
services are also provided without charge at the Center. Printed resource materials
include the Corporate Giving Directory, publications such as the Chronicle
of Philanthropy, and topical information on board development and nonprofit
management. Online subscriptions include Foundation Giving Online and Guidestar.

Workshops and Trainings
Scheduled throughout the year are technical assistance workshops for board
members and nonprofit executives on relevant how-to topics such as grant writing,
fundraising, media relations, and board governance. Click

NonProfit Excellence Forums
Opportunities for collaboration and networking are provided for board members,
donors, fund advisors and directors of nonprofit organizations to discuss philanthropy
in the Florida Keys are provided throughout the year by invitation free of
charge.
Leadership Success Academy Program
The Leadership Success Academy provides specific leadership and governance skill building programming and activities to individuals who serve as board members of local nonprofit organizations. This five-session certification program focuses on Leadership Assessment and Servant Leadership, Roles and Responsibilities of Board and Staff, Financial Literacy, Fundraising, and Change Management. Participation is free; participants will be selected through an application process based on commitment to attend all sessions. All participants who successfully complete the program will be eligible for a drawing for one of four $5,000 sustainability grants for their organization. Endowment Building Consultation
CFFK staff is available without charge to provide personal consultation to
develop strategies for sustainable funding for nonprofit organizations and
discuss your personal philanthropic goals. Our qualified staff will personally
meet with you, your organization and your donors to discuss the advantages
and options of creating an endowment. CFFK provides endowment management services
and can accept a variety of types of gifts, including stocks and on-line donations

Nonprofit Volunteerism Support and Recognition
The annual Unsung Heroes/Volunteer of the Year Luncheon recognizes volunteerism
in the Florida Keys. All nonprofit organizations are invited to nominate an
individual to receive a certificate of recognition for their unpaid contributions
to their organization during the past year. Three representatives of each organization
(your nominee, board president and executive director) are invited to attend
the luncheon free of charge. Additional tickets are $50.00 each. The Unsung
