From its beginning in 1996, CFFK has dedicated itself to distributing assets to our community's nonprofits. Ending its first year with assets hardly more than $20,000, the Foundation distributed over $8,000 to nonprofits through that time.

Since that time, the Community Foundation has continued to respond to emerging needs. From November 2005 through early 2006, The My Key West Emergency Relief Fund created by the Community Foundation in partnership with the Key West Chamber of Commerce, Cooke Communications, the Rodel Charitable Foundation provided over $1.3 million to hurricane Wilma victims through over 40 nonprofits.

With the enlightened support of the many benefactors in our community, the Foundation continues to provide significant grants, awards and scholarships annually to the community through its donor funds, benefiting scores of individuals and more than 70 nonprofit organizations and causes.
